Binary sensor as a smoke sensor?

I have connected Fibary binary sensor to my existing smoke alarm network (that have a relay).
Now I would like to configure Fire Protection app to use, but those binary sensors are not selectable as smoke sensors in Fire Protection app.

Is there a way to configure those binary sensors to Fire Protection app as smoke sensors?

I think only via Code Device that will wrap the Binary sensor. Or another way is to mangle a bit the Fire Protection app to allow selection of simple Binary sensor too. It is open source
