Connect to Razberry 7 on Windows

Post by steven11 »

Hi,
I have just purchased a Razberry 7 that I'd like to use on my Raspberry PI with Home Assistant.
I wanted to update the firmware now to the latest one, but I only have a Windows computer and I don't think it will work with HassIO on my PI, because that one is special and very restricted.

So I downloaded Z-Way software, plugged the Razberry into the COM port and set the COM port name in the network access app to "\\.\COM1".
Unfortunately this didn't work and the Razberry controller couldn't be recognized.

I have no idea what I have done wrong
Does anybody have a suggestion and know any other way how I can update the firmware?

Thanks,
Steven

Hello!

Make sure to correctly wire TX and RX.

But why not use Raspbian (32 bits) and do all that on the Raspberry Pi? Z-Way is installed on the RPi with one line.

I only have one SD Card and I wanted to avoid the hassle of backing up, reinstalling and restoring Home Assistant just for updating the firmware.
In the end I did that now and successfully updated the firmware. Thanks!
