Re-enter S2 key

Post by henning »

Hi!

Is there a way to re-enter the S2 key after a successful inclusion? I had a typo while including the device and now the interview won't complete the S2 security step, but i can't find a way to re-enter the key?!

THX!
Best,

No need to stress. You should be able to exclude the device and re-include it again with the correct S2 key. The exclude (and include) Z-Wave management commands are on the Expert UI->Network->Control page.

If you can't exclude the device and re-include it, the procedure is a little more complicated. First, do a factory reset on the device by following the manufacturer's instructions. At this point the device has been reset, but Z-Way may continue to maintain the device's information (Z-Wave Plus devices should send a message to node ID=1 when the device is factory reset, so Z-Way may automatically remove the device when the device is factory reset). If the device has not been automatically removed from Z-Way, manually remove the device from Z-Way using the Expert UI->Configuration page for your reset device and press the "Call for NIF" button. Since the device has been reset (i.e., it no longer is associated with Z-Way's Z-Wave network ID), the device will not respond to the NIF message and Z-Way will mark the device as failed within 5 minutes. You can monitor the NIF process using the Jobs menu item. After the device has been marked as failed, go to the Expert UI->Network->Control page and either remove the failed device or replace the failed device. If you choose the replace option, Z-Way will reassign the same node ID when and automatically start the inclusion process. If you do a remove, the node ID will be deleted and you can manually start the inclusion process.
