If you're on one of the 2.0 RCs, you may backup the current configuration (through Expert UI), then replace RaZberry card and restore from backup with network topology. In theory, it should work fine and write existing home id and devices list on the new controller.

Older (1.7.x) versions have no knowledge of the new cards, so will definitely fail. Don't even try with old versions.

Backup and restore worked. How is the thing supposed to work from the option in the Network-Control menu.

Can you make a backup on 1.7.2 and restore that backup on 2.0 with the new device?

Generally yes, but you'll lose some saved values after restore (until you query them again from devices) because of slightly changed file structure.
