I hope someone could help me with this soon, my home automation software is not working right now, The system could not collect any sensor data from the RaZ.
What options do i have?
Adding secondary controller
Re: Adding secondary controller
I was pondering the same, but it seems a bit scary after these posts...
Re: Adding secondary controller
I understand that. This dident work out as planned.
I hope we could get a solution to this issue. Two Controllers would be nice to have.

Re: Adding secondary controller
I really need help with this.
Maybe i have to reset my z-wave network and include all my device again to just one controller, i have 23 devices in my network and have several more devices just waiting for installation, but i dont want to include any more devices when the controllers are messed up.
So what do you say? what should i do?

Re: Adding secondary controller
I would reset the system and start over, myself. :p
Possibly experimenting with two razberries and one or two units to see if I could get them to play well.
I tried to run the Aeon Labs stick (old) together with the Razberry (new) with approximately the same result about 10 months ago. But I thought the main problem was with the stick (It was very messy - the reason I got the Razberry), but I never got to get a good handover so I just started over. On every unit I run "exclude" in the razberry interface, then "include". (Still doing that on the relays I haven't used since the spring.)
edit: though you might want to wait in case someone from z-wave.me want to debug a bit?

Re: Adding secondary controller
It would be nice if someone from z-wave.me would do some debug, but the problem is that now i cant get any sensor data back to my home automation system that means a smart house becomes very "not smart"
if i dont get any response from them here then i have to reset the system.

Re: Adding secondary controller
It is normal that both allows to include devices. The primary was 3rd gen (if I got you right). On inclusion of 5 gen (this is what you did, right?) 3rd gen assigned SIS to 5th gen and now 5th is SIS primary. Think of it as a new primary. You can in theory exclude 3rd or in blue UI use buttons Disable SIS on 5th and 3rd will become back primary.
This is too vague, I know. Even we don not really understand why is it so confusing in Z-Wave. These SUC/SIS are too strange children of Z-Wave protocol....
It is also normal that both sees each over with many instances 1...16. Also normal that Security did not passed (due to this damn SUC/SIS) ;(
So, there is no big problem.
Now the question is what is your problem with devices control?

Re: Adding secondary controller
Thanks for the reply.
I will in this post refer primary as Gen3 and secondary as Gen5
so you mean that its normal that the controllers sees each other as dimmable devices? so now when i look at device control and switches i will see the other controller as 17 dimmable device. My opinion is that this is not right.
In this example iam using a Wall Plug FGWPE-101.
in my primary controller under Associations i see only RaZberry in Group 1,2,3, RaZberry in this case it Primary controller.
In my secondary controller i have both RaZberry and Device 37 in group 1 and 2 and RaZberry in group 3, devcice 37 is secondary controller, i found it strange that this is not the same on both controllers.
In my primary controller in Network Information.
24 devices present
15 devices are mains powered
9 devices are battery powered
0 devices are FLIRS
secondary.

Strange that they report different.
I also had one failed device device 34 i deleted it on secondary controller and waited but i also had to delete it on primary controller. No replication about devices?
I have all interview completed on my Primary but iam having big problems with the interview on the Secondary.
Start Learn mode button is disabled on both the controllers, so i can not exclude any of them.
When i read about z-wave and two controllers then it say that Primary is the only one that can include devices, what happens in my case if i include on secondary?
If i include a new device, does it replicate to the other controller right away? do i need to interview it manual?
As i said, i have several devices just waiting but i dont want to include any more devices until i know that this is working as it should.

It is. These are technical channels. nothing about aesthetics. You can disable it, but you will also disable some features with this.
> ... i found it strange that this is not the same on both controllers.
Press "Update from device" on both. Will be same. They don't know about each other and gets information directly from the device. They don't update it without request.
> Strange that they report different.
Secondary have not done interview, so it does not know that 9 devices supports Battery CC, so it does shows wrong info.
> No replication about devices?
No. This is not done in Z-Wave. You have to explicitly do it. However if you delete it on Primary, Secondary will be update. This is because as I described, in fact Primary (3rd) is not primary anymore - it assigned SIS privileges to Secondary (so not it is the primary = confusing
. So then 3rd gen excludes a device, it does it on behalf of SIS (5th gen). So both knows. If SIS excludes it, it will not share this with other controllers unless asked for updates.

Re: Adding secondary controller
Thanks for trying to clear this up for me.
Iam going to try to reinterview the devices on my Gen5 i hope that it will solv the issue.
I will post my result here.
