LightScenes are defined at the more abstract virtual layer of the Home Automation engine. This layer itself communicates with Z-Wave. For Z-Wave, a multisensor device, is a device with movement, temperature, humidity sensors. The abstraction approach allows the users to create their own virtual devices of a certain type for example using dome JavaScript code. But also in the future there may come a module for EnOcean devices. The virtual devices automation layer will allow all such different physical devices being mixed in one abstract "device", in your case the LightScene.
