Z-Way-Server: iOS9 HomeKit Remote Access via iCloud Support?

Post by vga »

Hi,
since iOS9, Apple announced HomeKit should be able to access the accessories with Apples iCloud Service over WAN.
will there be an integration for this remote access on z-way-server e.g. with the HomeKitGate module?
Would be nice to know ;)

ICloud access works only if you have an AppleTV at home (which acts as a HomeKit controller in place of your phone). It should work as is, without any particular support from devices' side.

thank you pofs, thats correct till iOS8.
With iOS9 Apple announced that Apple TV shouldn´t be nessecary anymore, unless the accessories gets the ability to connect with HomeKit controller via an icloud-account (like Apple TV did).
In this case, devices' side needs the special ability, to work like this.

Then I suspect it won't be possible without the Apple-signed certificate devices have in their auth chip. So it is likely a no-go.
