Hello,
My Pi SD Card has become corrupt and no backup.
I can however access the files on the SD Card on a linux PC.
Is it possible to recover my Razberry Z-Wave installation y copying across a config file or the likes to the new SD Card running on the Same Pi and Razberry board as original install?
Regards,
James
Recover Z-Wave Pi Install
Re: Recover Z-Wave Pi Install
I am looking for a config file, maybe config.xml or something from the old card I can move across to the new card.
Does anything like this exist?

Re: Recover Z-Wave Pi Install
James have you already installed zway on the new sd card ?
If you have. Go into ExpertUI and make a backup before you do anything else. (I'm not sure, but think this backup is mainly the Razberry board data)
You might as well do the other backup in SmarthomeUI Configuration-Management tab.
It's not a config file you need, but the whole 'z-way-server' folder.
sudo /etc/init.d/z-way-server stop
On the New SD card. Rename /opt/z-way-server folder to 'z-way-server-old-2018'
Copy the old 'z-way-server' folder from the old SD card to /opt/ on the new SD card.
sudo /etc/init.d/z-way-server start
But. If you havn't yet installed zway on the new SD card !
I would wait for Support guys to answer, or E-mail them.
You do not want to lose the data on the Raspberry card.
I am not sure if a new install does an automatic cleanup of the Raspberry card.
Have fun trying that.
Cheers Micky.

Awesome, thanks will give it a try.
Re: Recover Z-Wave Pi Install
Thanks, I tried the above and my devices are not present once I login so my config is gone.
Re: Recover Z-Wave Pi Install
Are you sure that you are running same z-way version, better same raspberry system, Jessie or Stretch?
And is your Razberry board initialized? Then the old folder should be copied like mikey1500 wrote and it should work.

Re: Recover Z-Wave Pi Install
How would I be able to tell version from old files I have on SD card, indeed which OS the dead card was as I can't remember?
Many Thanks.
Many Thanks.
Re: Recover Z-Wave Pi Install
One hint maybe the date when the folder was created. Normaly you have also some backup folders in this directory, which always
show a date code.
I understood that you can read the files from the SD card.
